Task I Read the text and answer the questions. Commercial banks offer commercial services to a wide range of customers. Customers can open current accounts and deposit accounts. A current account is very popular. It pays no interest but it has other advantages.
Firstly, it enables people to keep their money in a safe place. Secondly, it allows them to withdraw it at any time. Thirdly, it provides them with a cheque-book so that they do not have to carry a lot of cash.
To open a current account it is necessary to see the branch manager. He has to decide whether the applicant is likely to keep the account in credit. A current account holder can only overdraw with the manager’s permission. The manager will therefore want to meet the applicant to get the necessary background information. For example, he will want to know the applicant’s occupation and his place of work. He will also probably want a reference from his/her employer. If, after the interview, the manager is satisfied with the applicant he will approve the application, arrange for the applicant to be given a cheque-book and arrange for a monthly statement to be sent to him/her.
A deposit account is another popular kind of account. It has advantages over a current account. First of all, it is easier to open than a current account. There is no need to see the manager. A customer only has to fill in a form and then deposit the minimum amount of money required by the bank.

Dear Masha,

I was very glad to hear from you.

Now I want to tell you about my summer holidays. My summer holidays were very interesting. When my holidays came, I was very happy!

I spend them in Cyprus (или любая другая страна, город, где была!) with my family. The weather was fine so we swam in the sea or we went for a walk. It was excellent!
Sometimes we went on excursions and visited a lot of interesting places. It was great!
I met many new friends in our hotel and we had fun! Most of all I enjoyed sunbathing and swimming in the sea.

I liked my holidays very much.

That's enough for me today. I have to go now.

I'm looking forward to hearing from you soon.

Best wishes,

Yours Diana.

In London you are never far from the River Thames. Many tourists go on boat trips from Tower Bridge to Westminster.

Another good boat trip is to Greenwich. In Greenwich you can visit The Old Royal Observatory. The boat passes a lot of famous buildings.

There are some fine ,modern buildings on the South Bank. You can see The royal Festival Hall and The Tate Modern. There are also many art galleries, restaurants and bars on the South bank.

On the South Bank, you can visit the Imax Cinema with its huge screen or you can go on the London Eye.The London Eye is a big wheel that takes you 135 metres above London. It is the slowest big wheel in the world and the best way to see the wholecity. You can see for forty kilometres in all directions. You can see old buildings like St Paul's Cathedral and Windsor Castle, and new buildings like the Millennium Dome and the Gherkin.

The Gerkin is a gass building. It looks like a vegetable. From the London Eye you can also see the tall buildings in Canary Wharf.Canary Wharf is a new centre of business in London.
