                                         My household duties

We all have to do household chores. Children must help their parents because this way we learn to take care of ourselves and those around us. I believe that everyone should be able to keep the household running smoothly, keep everything tidy and cook  meals.

My household duties are not difficult to do, but they are important. I always make my bed and tidy up my room. I usually wash dishes after dinner and take the rubbish out. Once a week I help my mother with the cleaning of our flat (*если ты живешь в доме, замени слово flat на house). I dust the furniture, do the hoovering, water our home plants. I also look after our dog and walk it in the morning and when I come home from school.

To be honest, I don't always enjoy doing all these chores, but I know that my parents need my help.

Мы все должны заниматься домашними делами. Дети должны своим родителям, потому что так мы учимся заботиться о себе и окружающих нас людях. Я считаю, что каждый должен уметь вести домашнее хозяйство, содержать все в порядке и готовить еду.

Мои домашние обязанности не сложные, но они важны. Я всегда заправляю кровать и убираю свою комнату. Я обычно мою посуду после ужина и выношу мусор. Раз в неделю я маме делать уборку в нашей квартире (доме). Я вытираю пыль с мебели, пылесошу, поливаю цветы. Я также ухаживаю за нашей собакой и выгуливаю ее утром и когда прихожу домой из школы.

Если честно, мне не всегда нравится выполнять все эти обязанности, но я знаю, что моим родителям нужна моя

We live in a three-room flat. The first room is my parents’ bedroom, the second is a hall for guests, and the third is my bedroom. My favourite room is, of course, my bedroom. I spend most of my time there as it’s not only a bedroom but also a study.

My room is very nice and cozy. I can’t say it’s spacious enough but I have everything I need there. There isn’t much furniture, only necessary things. For more convenience it’s built-in. My bed is situated in the left corner of the room, and my desk is in the right. Beside my bed there is a stylish lamp and a comfortable armchair with some stuffed animals on it. When it’s rainy weather outside, I like to turn on my lamp, sit in the armchair and read interesting books.

As for the desk, it contains numerous drawers where I can keep my pens, pencils, markers, text-books, exercise books, notes, diaries and else. There are also some shelves with books in my room. I have a large collection of Russian and English books.

There are some posters with my favourite quotations and music bands on the walls. They set a special atmosphere in my room.

I like my room a lot. It’s the place where I feel fine. When my friends come over, I invite them into my room. It’s a suitable place both for work and for rest.
