    Were mum and dad at home last night? - Yes, they were. / No, they      weren't.        

5) Chuckles was in Larry's room this morning.

   Chuckles wasn't in Larry's room this morning.

   Was Chuckles in Larry's room this morning? - Yes, it was. / No, it wasn't.

6) Larry was in the garden an hour ago.

   Larry wasn't in the garden an hour ago.

   Was Larry in the garden an hour ago? Yes, he was. / No, he wasn't.
