This summer holidays I'm planning to spend as many times as possible with my friends and my family. I want to make the best of my summer vacations. I will go to different parts of our country and also I will play many different kind of games with my friends . I will also enjoy my time with my family, like playing games, going on different excursion, doing sports together. The moral aim of my vacation is to get more closer with the people I love and care for. Additionally I will also go to extra courses and be ready for the upcoming year, because I know that the elder I get the harder the lessons will become.

There is: Сюда относятся названия материалов и различных субстанций (iron, copper, sand, coal, chalk, oil, bread, cheese, wine, tea etc.), а также многие существительные, которые обозначают абстрактные понятия (curiosity, anger, foolishness, fun, progress etc.)[1].

Интересно, что в английском существительные advice, information, progress и knowledge употребляются только в единственном числе, в отличие от русского языка, где форма множественного числа также возможна.

Например:

They gave me some good advice. — Они дали мне несколько хороших советов.

We have a little information on this subject. — У нас есть немного сведений по этому во Существительные money и hair употребляются только в единственном числе, в то время как в русском языке соответствующие им существительные деньги и волосы — во множественном.

Например:

This money is mine. — Эти деньги мои.

Her hair is wavy. — Её волосы волнистые.

Некоторые существительные, которые оканчиваются на —s, тоже употребляются только в единственном числе (news, summons).

Например:

The news is good. — Новости хорошие.

Сюда также относятся существительные, которые оканчиваются на —ics (названия наук: physics, mathematics, linguistics etc., а также некоторые другие существительные: politics, ethics etc.).

Например:

Physics is very interesting. — Физика очень интересная.

There are: Что же до существительных, которые употребляются только во множественном числе, то к ним относятся следующие группы:

Названия некоторых предметов одежды, которые состоят из двух частей (trousers, pants, shorts, pyjamas etc.).

Например:

Where are my trousers? — Где мои брюки?

Названия инструментов и некоторых других предметов, которые состоят из двух частей (scissors, spectacles, pincers, glasses etc.).

Your glasses are over there. — Твои очки там.

Некоторые другие существительные (clothes, contents, goods, whereabouts, surroundings etc.).

His clothes were soaking wet. — Ее одежда была насквозь мокрая.
