A. In 1990s, VCRs started to be replaced with DVD players. They play back

nology gives a much better picture and sound.

recorded visual images and sound on magnetic tape and played them back
on television sets.
D. Kinetoscopes were soon replaced by projection machines that showed
enlarged pictures on a screen. With these new machines many people
could watch a film at the same time.
E. At first VCRs were mostly used in schools. But later they were used to
watch movies in every home.
F. In 1893, Edison's company presented the first commercial motion picture
machine. They called this machine the kinetoscope. It was a box showing

                          My favourite place in Minsk

I live in Minsk and I like living here. My favourite place is Maksim Gorky Central Children's Park, or Gorky Park for short.

The park is situated right in the city center, near Victory Square. It is one of the oldest and biggest parks in Minsk. There are a lot of trees here — pines, poplars ans alders which look fabulous especially in autumn. Adults and children usually come here to take a walk, feed the ducks or squirrels, or attend the amusement park that has a 56-metre Ferris wheel and different play areas and rides. My friends and I like riding our bikes here. If we get hungry, there are food trucks here.

I think Gorky Park is a great place for kids.

My favorite place - this is my home. At home, I can have a rest from school. At home, I love to sit at the computer, talk on the phone with friends, sleep well and eat, as well as my home - it's like my little studio, I can at home to develop your voice, ie sing.
