Составить аннотацию на для текста : central processing unit it is well-known in computer science that the words “computer” and “processor” are used interchangeably. speaking more precisely, “computer” refers to the central processing unit (cpu) together with an internal memory.the internal memory, control and processing components make up the heart of the computer system. manufactures design the cpu to control and carry out basic instructions for their particular computer. the cpu coordinates all the activities of the various components of the computer. it determines which operations should be carried out and in what order. the cpu controls the operation of the entire system by issuing commands to other parts of the system and by acting on responses. when required, it reads information from the memory, interprets instructions, per- forms operations on the data according to the instructions, writes the results back into the memory, and moves information between memory levels or through the input-output ports. in digital computers the cpu can be divided into two functional units called the control unit (cu) and the arithmetic-logic unit (alu). these two units are made up of electronic circuits with millions of switches that can be in one of two states, either on or off. the function of the cu within the central processor is to transmit coordi- nating control signals and commands. the control unit is that part of the com- puter that directs the sequence of step-by-step operations of the system, selects instructions and data from memory, interprets the program instructions, and controls the flow between main storage and the arithmetic-logic unit. the alu, on the other hand, is that part of the computer in which the actual arithmetic operations, namely, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and exponentiation, called for in the instructions are performed. programs and the data on which the cu and the alu operate, must be in internal memory in order to be processed. thus, if located in secondary memory devices, such as disks or tapes, programs and data are first loaded into internal memory.

Dmitry Ivanovich Mendeleev is a famous Russian chemist. He is best known for his development of the properties of the chemical elements of the periodic table. This table shows that property elements change periodically when they are ordered atomic weight. Mendeleev was born in 1834 in Tobolsk, Siberia. He studied chemistry at the University of St. Petersburg and in 1859 he was sent to study at the University of Heidelberg. Mendeleev returns to St. Petersburg and became a professor of chemistry at a technical institute in 1863. He became a professor of general chemistry at the University of St. Petersburg in 1866. Mendeleev was a well-known teacher, and, because there was not a good textbook on chemistry at that time, He wrote in two volumes "Principles of Chemistry", which became a classic Textbook on Chemistry. In this book, Mendeleev tried to classify elements according to their chemical properties. In 1869, he published his first version of his periodic table of elements. In 1871, he published an improved version of the periodic table in which He left spaces for elements that were not known at that time. His table and theories were later confirmed when three predicted elements: gallium, germanium, and scandium were discovered. Mendeleev investigated chemical solution theories. He found that the best proportions of alcohol and water in vodka are 40%. He also investigated the thermal expansion of liquids and the nature of oil. In 1893, he became director of the Bureau of Weights and Measures in St. Petersburg and held this post until his death in 1907.
