Moscow is the capital of russia, its political, economic and cultural center. it was founded 8 centuries ago by prince yuri dolgoruky. historians have accepted the year of 1147 as the start of moscow's history. gradually the city became more and more powerful. in the 13th century moscow was the center of the struggle of russian lands for the liberation from the tartar yoke. in the 16th century under ivan the terrible moscow became the capital of the new united state. though peter the great moved the capital to st. petersburg in 1712, moscow remained the heart of russia. now moscow is one of the largest cities in europe. its total area is about 900 square km. the population of the city is over 8 million people.

Izmaylovsky ParkThe Izmaylovsky Park of Culture and rest – one of the most environmentally friendly parks in Europe, a monument of landscape gardening art, especially protected natural territory.In the park there is a large number of sports grounds. The biggest and popular platform for occupations in the fresh air was located in the Central part of the park, between the platform of attractions "Baby" and the chess and checkerboard pavilion. In close proximity there the platform of exercise machines and the Workout platform is located. 4 additional platforms with exercise machines are along a so-called track of health and more two – in the square at Entuziastov Highway, and the Workout platform - at the pavilion for a game in Aysshtok, and near Muzhestva Square. In the park there are two platforms for a game in five-a-side: one is in the square at Entuziastov Highway, another – at the pavilion for a game in Aysshtok: the platform is equipped with additional boards and is a hockey box in the winter. The territory of the Izmaylovsky Park can be divided into the Northern part which is to the North from Moskovsky Avenue, and Central – to the South from it. The recreation park was created in 1931, and till 1961 bore a name of I. V. Stalin. Among sights - the Big big wheel, oldest in Moscow, Muzhestva Square - the museum of military equipment under the open sky, the Round pond of the 17th century and the Musical arbor.
