Many years ago this tower hag another name, Kolomenskaya. In 1611-1612 Marina Mnishek lived in Kolomna. She was Lzhedmitriy the first’s wife and then she was Lzhedmitriy the second’s wife. After expulsion of Poles from Moscow she had been shut up in the Tower, where she dead. So people have named this tower Marinkina Tower.
