All of us have experienced some strange
coincidences in our lives. Maybe we once
bumped into a work colleague in a foreign
country or a friend called us just as we

В первом примере разница между "was scared" и "is scared" заключается во времени пассивного залога.

В первом случае: изначально предложение было в активном залоге, потом предложение переделали в пассивном залоге, применив формулу. Если предложение в активном залоге стоит в Present Simple, то в пассивном залог нам его нужно переделать в Present Simple Passive: Is/am/are + Ved (V3).

Пассивный залог (Passive Voice): The child is scared by this dog.

Во втором случае применяется другая формула. Если предложение в активном залоге стоит в Past Simple, то в пассивном залог нам его нужно переделать Past Simple Passive: was/were + Ved (V3).

То есть:

Что касается "my car is gone" или "is missing".

Как я понял, здесь очень тонкая разница.

В первом случае, my car is gone, можно перевести как "моей машины больше нет", то есть машина может быть в утиле, на ремонте, сгореть и другие возможные случаи.

Во втором случае, my car is missing, перевести можно как "У меня пропала машина" , то есть ее украли.
