In Scotland, the eve of New Year's celebration is called Hogmanay.
Preparation for the holiday begins at the beginning of December 31. People on this day clean up, bake cookies, as well as the Black Bun cake, rich in fruit, in order to treat to their loved ones.
On the night of Hogmanay, live concerts are held on all city streets, and most people wear costumes.
When the bells strike twelve, everyone starts to sincerely congratulate each other on the New Year. After that, fireworks are launched, and people begin to sing the traditional song. January 1, people visit friends to wish them good luck in the New Year.
