Софіївський Собор

Однією з головних визначних пам'яток Києва є собор Святої Софії. Це одне з перших творів давньоруської архітектури Києва. Собор був побудований в XI столітті. Він розташований в самому центрі міста. 

Софія Київська прикрашена 260 кв.м. мозаїк та 3 тисячі кв.м. фресок. Навряд чи де-небудь в Європі можна знайти церкву, де б збереглося стільки фресок XI століття. Усі монастирські будівлі, що знаходяться поруч побудовані в 17 столітті і виконані в архітектурному стилі українського бароко.

"Sophia Cathedral"

One of the main attractions of Kiev is the Hagia Sophia. This is one of the first works of ancient Russian architecture in Kyiv. The cathedral was built in the XI century. It is located in the heart of the city.

Sophia of Kyiv is decorated with 260 sq.m. mosaics and 3 thousand sq.m. frescoes. Hardly anywhere in Europe can you find a church where so many 11th century frescoes have survived. All the nearby monastery buildings were built in the 17th century and are made in the architectural style of the Ukrainian Baroque.

When my summer holidays came I was very happy!  The weather was fine so my friends and I went for a walk every day. It was fun! Then I spent a month in the country where my grandfather and grandmother live. It was great. I drank milk and ate a lot of tasty food that my granny prepared for me. I have many friends in this village because I go there every holidays. We played football and tennis every day! There is a small river near the forest and we swam when the weather was fine. It was great! 
 I liked my holidays very much.
