NEVER-ENDING JOURNEY When we got off the (1) p. after
a three-hour delay, we went straight to the
(2) 1 T so that we could get to our
hotel as quickly as possible. We had been
waiting for about half an hour when a man
walked up to us and said, "The taxis arc on
strike today. If you want to get to the centre of
town, you can either take thc (3) b

the train. We were told that there were two
kinds of train. The first stopped ai five stations
before reaching the centre and the second one
was an (4) e Of course, we chose the
second Kind. So, we paid our (5) f.
the man at the ticket office told us to run or
else we would (6) m the train and there
wouldn't be another one for a whole hour!
Running with suitcases isn't very easy so we
didn't make it and we had to wait on the
(7) p... -
for the next one. Our (8)
had already lasted twelve hours and we
wanted to get to our hotel and get some sleep.
What made it even worse was the thought that
the next day we had to catch a (9) 1 and
(10) t for another cight hours to an
island!

First of all let me introduce myself. Насамперед, дозвольте представитися.

My name is Taras. Мене звати Тарас.

I'm seventeen years old. Мені сімнадцять років.

I'm at 11-th grade.   Я вчуся в 11 класі.   

There are two more kids in the family besides me — my elder brother Oleg and my younger sister Mariya. Крім мене, в родині ще дві дитини— мій старший брат Олег і молодша сестричка Марія.

Oleg is twenty-one, he attends a University, he will be a dentist.  Олегові двадцять один рік, він ходить до університету, буде дантистом.

Mariya is only twelve, she is a schoolgirl. Марії тільки дванадцять, вона школярка.

I forgot to mention one more member of our family. Я забув згадати ще одного члена нашої родини.

It's our favourite poodle Tim.  Це — наш улюблений пудель Тім.

My parents are not old at all. Мої батьки ще зовсім молоді.

My Mum is forty, she works for a newspaper.  Моїй мамі сорок, вона працює в газеті.

My Dad is forty-four, he is an engineer in computers. Татові — сорок чотири, він працює інженером ЕОМ.

My parents love their jobs very much. Мої батьки дуже люблять свою професію.

I'm doing quite well at school. У школі я вчуся добре.

My parents are proud of my marks. Мої батьки пишаються моїми оцінками.

I go in for sports. Я захоплююся спортом. 

I play basket-ball. Я граю в баскетбол.

I take part in different basket-ball competitions. Беру участь у різних змаганнях з баскетболу.

In summer time I like yachting and windsurfing.  У літню пору мені подобається вітрильний спорт і віндсерфінг.

In a year I shall finish my school and I have to decide what occupation to choose. Через рік я закінчу школу, і мені потрібно вирішити, яку професію обрати. 

I have been studying English for seven years. Я вивчаю англійську мову сім років.

I want to be a military interpreter.  Хочу бути військовим перекладачем.

My grandparents are already retired. Мої бабуся та дідусь уже на пенсії.

They like gardening and spend all their time growing tomatoes, potatoes, onions, strawberries, raspberries.

Andrey Sergeyevich Arshavin was born on May 29, 1981 to Leningrad (nowadays – St. Petersburg). The love to football in Arshavin since the childhood was brought up by the father. It was the quite good player therefore aspired and to see in the son similar attachment to game. Andrey Arshavin was fond also of drafts, even had on them the youthful category. Andrey was engaged in the House of pioneers and school students of the Vasileostrovsky area. His instructor convinced that professional game in drafts is that area where Arshavin can reach considerable successes. But Andrey Arshavin chose other way – football.
