Task 1. Read the text.
My name is Polly. I am ten. I am a schoolgirl. I go to school. I like learning English and playing puzzles. I
would like to tell you about my family. It is neither big nor small. There are four ofus.
I have got a mother. Her name is Jane. She is a teacher. She is very responsible and creative. She likes
her work. Her hobbies are singing and shopping. My mother is fond of reading detective stories,
I have got a father. His name is Jack. He is a doctor. He is clever and hardworking. My father likes
playing golf. He goes in for sport to be healthy and strong. He is fond of fishing too.
My brother Nick is small
. He is only four. He likes playing toys. Usually we get on well with him, but
sometimes he is very naughty.
On Saturdays and Sundays we like to be together. Last Sunday we went to the country. We had a good

    Of all the holidays in the world, my birthday is my favorite. This year we celebrated it at home, warm. Mom baked a cake that was incredibly tasty and beautiful, so I ate several pieces with great pleasure and listened to the congratulations with a wide smile.

     And then came the most long-awaited moment of the whole holiday: my parents gave me a big encyclopedia about animals and a children's telescope through which you can watch the stars in the night sky. I dreamed about him for so long!

    In the evening, my closest friends came to visit us, and we went for a walk. Since there is a cozy green park with several attractions not far from the house, we did not have to be bored. When it got dark outside, I invited the guys to look at my telescope, after which we spent an hour with him looking at the stars

   I will remember this day for a long time, because I really liked it! It is a pity, of course, that such a wonderful holiday happens only once a year. I am looking forward to my next birthday.

My favorite day.

My favorite day is my birthday. It's a lot of fun at the birthday party, all family members communicate with each other, drink different drinks. On this day I make a wish, in the hope that it will come true. Also on this day they give me many gifts. I love this day very much.
