Is it possible to imagine modern life without modern inventions, for example, without the Internet? Nowadays, it is customary to scold it and assume that all misfortunes occur solely because of it. So let's try to consider the positive and negative aspects of life without using the global information network and decide whether we should permanently eliminate it from our life or not.

Suppose you decided to exclude the Internet from your everyday life. What positive changes will it lead to? Firstly, if you stop sitting in front of the computer screen, you will have free time to spend on your favorite activities: reading, drawing, sports, music, etc. These hobbies make life fascinating and exciting, as well as broaden your horizons and improve your health if you take the time to exercise. Secondly, real communication will return to our life, and there will be personal meetings with friends, acquaintances, relatives. Discussing the topics of concern to us, we will see a real interlocutor, perhaps with the opposite point of view, and we will learn to respect the opinion of another person, find a compromise, common language, that is, develop communication skills. Most likely, handwritten letters will return to our lives. As you know, fine motor skills positively affect the brain and therefore contribute to the development of intelligence. And this is another advantage of living outside the World Wide Web.

And what negative consequences await us in case of refusal to use the Internet? Although it may sound strange, but above all, now it’s a waste of time to queue up. Using a worldwide network, we can make an appointment to see a doctor at a convenient time for us and come to the hospital at the appointed hour or buy a train ticket without losing time to get to the train station and wait for the operator to work with other clients. Thus, we will lose this convenience at the moment when the Internet disappears from our lives. In addition, we will have to forget about talking on Skype, and it’s so nice to see relatives and friends living in another city or even abroad because we don’t always have time or sometimes financial opportunity to visit them. Besides, we must not forget that the Internet is a repository of information. In seconds, you can find the right book, movie, TV show, historical background, recording of a sporting event, etc.

In conclusion, I want to say that, despite the possible advantages of living without the Internet, I am not going to give up this useful invention because with it I feel much more comfortable. Knowing its negative sides, I will try to mitigate them because the merits of the worldwide computer network are more important to me. Moreover, I believe that one should lodge a claim against themselves, and not against modern technologies. The Internet is only a tool that benefits or harms, depending on whose hands it falls and for what purpose it is used.
