- Compare and contrast forms of greetings in USA, GB and Australia.
- Pretend to be speaking as an American, a British or an Australian
- Look through the websites or textbooks and find and specify differences in US, British and Australian verbal communication
- Comment on reasons of differences in vocabulary
- Watch the youtube video and make up questions to ask your groupmates
- Make any necessary corrections before you report.
- To avoid difficulties you should carefully examine the lecture materials, recommended literature on the appropriate themes, analyze and summarize to be able to apply them in solution of the practical tasks.

   As all of us know, the twenty-first century is the age of technology. There are a lot of lot of modern inventions : smartphones, tablets, robots with built-in-intelligence... But I mean that the newest invention is a smart house.
   The smart house is a modern residential building, organized for people living with the help of automation and high-tech devices. It is a system that provides security and resourse-saving (including comfort) for all users.
  For exemple, when you leave your house, the supply of gas and water automatically turns off. Light in rooms is switched off also independently. 
As for me, I would not want to live in such house, because I think that all of this innovetions have a bad effect on our health.

New Year is the most popular holiday in my famaly. At the beginning of December everybody has a festive mood. In the city the streets and shop windows are decorated with bright garlands. A huge Christmas tree is put at the main square. We begin to prepare for the holiday. We buy Christmas-tree decorations. We also buy gifts for relatives and friends. We usaly celebrate New Year sitting around the table and having dinner. Later in the night we walk otside and make fireworks. I like this holidsy very much.
Новый год - наиболее популярный праздник в моей семье. С начала декабря у всех праздничное настроение. В городе улицы и магазины украшают яркими гирляндами. Огромную елку ставят на главной площади. Мы начинаем готовиться к празднику. Мы покупаем елочные игрушки. Мы также покупаем подарки для родственников и друзей. Мы обычно отмечаем новый год сидя за столом и ужиная. Позднее ночью мы гуляем и устраиваем фейерверк. Мне очень нравится этот праздник.
