Robin MacWizard is in Obninsk with his pen-friend Misha. I usually watch the boys from a big tree in the garden. I start at 6 o'clock every morning and finish at 11 o'clock every night. At 8 o'clock the boys get up. I am sit in the tree. At 8.30 Misha's mother gives the boys a hot breakfast. I eat my cold sandwich. Misha's mother doesn't cook for me. At 9 o'clock Misha's father goes to work, but Misha's mother stays at home. She works in the evenings. She tidies up the flat and the boys go to school. In the afternoon they come home and have lunch. I sit in the tree. After lunch the mother leaves and the boys do very strange things. They walk the cat. Most boys walk dogs. They speak English and read History books. Most boys watch TV and play computers games. They don't go out with Misha's friends. Most boys go out in the evening with their friends. At 7 PM the boys have dinner with the family. And I am still in my tree. At 11 o'clock the boys are in bed and I can finally go home. I am always cold and tired.Please help me, Boss. I don't understand these boys.

At the time I first met Mr. Alien in 1990, he considered the possibility of studying foreign languages again. He has forgotten everything that he had learnt about Latin and French at school. The languages that he wanted to learn at that time were Spanish and Portuguese. He was going to study those languages in the Department of General Education at New York University. Therefore, he entrolled that school in 1991.

After my friend had finished studying at New York University he decided to go to South America for a year. Because he had never been there before, he enjoyed visiting the famous cities of Brazil and Argentina. He liked Sao Paulo so much that he considered staying there much longer. Before that time he had always hoped to find a place with an ideal climate. Therefore, Sao Paulo seemed to be a real paradise (рай). However, he spent all his money and was forced to return.

Now my friend Mr. Alien is planning to visit France next year. He is leaving for Paris on March 15. Mr. Alien will also visit Germany on the same trip. He realises that he must learn French and German before he goes to Europe. At present he is taking a course in French in preparation for the trip. He thinks that French is quite easy. Of course he has never been in France before, so he has a little opportunity to hear French. He works very hard at his French every day. He will study German at New York University next semester. I am sure that he will have no language problem in the other countries when he gets there. Many people in those countries understand English or French.
