But with all the benefits music has, I think there are some downsides to the modern music. For example, nowadays singers use many curse words in their songs. I really don't enjoy that. In a way, that is a way to express themselves better and get across a mood of the song, but I wasn't raised hearing those words a lot so when I hear them in songs, I feel uneasy. Most of the songs we hear on the radio nowadays are pop songs. It's a combination of a catchy melody and lyrics. However, in my opinion, nowadays musicians and song writers aren't paying as much attention to the idea they want to get across with the lyrics, instead they just want it to be catchy and stay in your head for days. This way, you will listen to it more and even buy the song online or an album, giving more popularity and money to the artist. Needless to say, many artists nowadays don't write their own music. Even when accused of it, they don't deny it. It's just the way music is nowadays. Many modern singers just use autotune and can't even sing in real life and that is a problem of the technological era we live in. I always wonder whether a singer I started to like is actually real. Whether the voice is edited many times to get all the notes and whether they really wrote the lyrics of the song or there are around 20 people behind it. Of course, that type of music sells well because so many people are working on it, but it makes me sad that music has become so fake and plastic-feeling.
