1) Where is Red Square situated?

Red Suqare is situated in the centre of Moscow.

2) What was its first name?

Its first name was Torg, or market place.

3) Why did people call the square "Pozhar"?

They called "Pozhar" because there was a big fire in 1493 there.

4) When did the square get its modern name?

The square got its modern name in the 17th century. "Krasnaya" meant beautiful.

5) What can people see in Red Square?

People can see the famous buildings and monuments: St Basil's Cathedral, The History Museum, Spasskaya Tower and others.

6) What can they hear?

People who come to Red Square can hear the Kremlin Clock.
