The first time I went to the boxing competition when I was seven years old. The competition took place in our kids sports club that I went to just because everyone else used to go there. I was so impressed with young sportsmen that I was looking at them and dreaming of the day I would be able to step on the ring.
When I came home I started to practice my boxing hooks on my father. Of course, at first it didn’t look like the professional sportsman movements and my parents even laughed at me a little. Despite that my desire to become a real boxer lingered in my mind.
One day two years later after my track and field practice I found the boxing trainer in our club and asked him to let me join his class. My future trainer’s name was Victor Semenovich and he gave me his phone number and told me that he would like to talk to my parents first.
My mom and dad were so impressed that I had made this decision myself that they allowed me to try. That’s how my road to my dream has started and in the beginning it was very hard and brought me a lot of disappointment.
During our first classes we didn’t do much we only ran laps, did pushups and practiced hits in front of the mirror. Nobody even talked about the fights. Time passed by and we started to watch video with our favorite sportsmen and tried to practice the same hooks they used during the fight. Later on we started to fight with each other and then finally there was the first day of my competition.
My rival and I were fighting on the fake boxing ring and our parents and friends were cheering. I won that fight and I was very happy about it.
My dream came true that it motivated me to continue my development. Right now boxing is a part of my life. I spent three evenings a week for training and I have won a lot of fights. I have no doubts that I’ll have an eventful sports life ahead!
Lily: hello Dean, what's your favorite holiday?
Dean: My favorite holiday, the new year.
Lily: Why do you like him so much?
Dean: New Year's Day is a terrific holiday! Everything is decorated, lights everywhere, at home in the middle of the room grows a prickly tree. People in the New Year are becoming kinder and happier. Everyone is busy making preparations for the celebration. They are looking for decorations for the Christmas tree, the Christmas tree itself, gifts under the Christmas tree. Children write letters to Santa Claus and are anxiously waiting for the holiday. What is your favorite holiday?
Lily: And my favorite holiday is my birthday! I do not give a lot of gifts, I walk with my parents and friends.
