Jane is taken in by people she later dis- covers are her cousins. One of them is St.
John, a religious man. He gives her a job
and soon wants to marry her and take her to
India. At first Jane agrees to leave with him
but not as his wife.
Just then, she always hears a strange
voice of Rochester in her mind. Jane returns
to Thornfield and finds the house burned,
set on fire by Rochester's wife, who then
jumped to her death. Rochester tried to
save her, but was blinded. Jane and Ro-
chester are happy to be together and they
get married. Rochester later has the ability
