Kolomenskoye is my favorite place in Moscow. If you are interested in history, you can learn a lot of new things, especially about the era of Peter 1. I really love folklore festivals, with bright costumes, folk songs and dances, traditional national dishes. I like magnificent views of the park and the Moscow River. Fresh air, peace and quiet of historical places make visitors truly happy. Kolomenskoye is one of the most popular holiday destinations for Muscovites and tourists from all over the country and from abroad.

1) Some of the most popular Russian festivals are The New Year, Orthodox Christmas, Maslenitsa, Orthodox Easter, Victory Day and many others.

2) My favorite holiday is The New Year.

3) It is celebrated in the night of December, 31 to January, 1. That night is called the New Year’s Eve.

4) My family and I celebrate The New Year by decorating our Christmas tree, having a delicious meal, watching the fireworks and, of course, by giving presents.

5) My mother cooks some special dishes which are associated with this holiday, for example: olivier (also called Russian) salad and dressed herring. I love helping my mom to prepare these tasty dishes.
