One of the main symbols of New Year is a beautiful Christmas tree. The tradition to set up this tree at home came to Russia from Germany. In order to celebrate the middle of winter, the Germans used to bring home pine branches. Evergreen plant showed people that the nature has not died but just fell asleep. And when the cold weather is over it will wake up and will make us happy again with its beauty and bright colors.
