While studying in 1951, a student of the Alma-Ata Conservatory was invited to work as a soloist of the Kazakh radio, where she performed popular folk and variety songs. In 1954, Tulegenova graduated from the Alma-Ata Conservatoire. Bibigul was enlisted in the troupe of the Abai State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater in Alma-Ata, and two years later the singer was invited to the Kurmangazy Folk Instruments Orchestra. Until 1971, together with the troupe of the Tulegenov Orchestra, traveled all over Kazakhstan and the Soviet Union. In 1958 she became a laureate of the All-Union Contest of Variety Artists.
