Russia which is also called the Russian Federation is a large country partly in Eastern Europe and mainly in Asia. By land area Russia is the largest country in the world. The population of this country is about 145 million people. The capital of the Russian Federation is Moscow. Russia is not only a very large country, but also a very diverse one.
This large country borders with Finland, Norway, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, Belarus, Poland, Georgia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, China, Azerbaijan, and North Korea. Russia also shares borders by the Bering Strait with the United States and by the Sea of Okhotsk with Japan.
