В английском языке для обозначение действия с постфиксом -сь, -ся используются возвратные местоимения myself (я сам), herself (она сама) и пр.

К примеру: I need to take care of myself (Мне нужно позаботиться о себе). В подобных предложениях не всегда при их переводе будет слышен -сь, -ся, т.к. часто он не звучит или так нельзя сказать.

Например: She did her homework herself (Она сделала свою домашнюю работу сама). Тут уже не скажешь "Она сделалась свою домашнюю работу". "Сам(а)" звучит намного лучше :)
