My favourite author is William Shakespeare. He was born in 1564 in Straiford-upon-Avon. His parents did not guess that their son was going to be such an important figure in English poetry and drama and that his plays would still be acted four hundred years later — not only in England, but all over the world. In 1587 Shakespeare went to work in London. He soon began to act and to write plays. He was an important member of a well-known acting company. In 1599 the famous Globe Theatre was built on the south bank of the river Thames. It was in this theatre that most of his plays were performed. In 1613 Shakespeare finally stopped writing and went to live in Stratford where he died in 1616.

The English proverb says, "A friend in need is a friend indeed!" and,

"A friend is someone who knows the melody of your heart and can sing it when you forget the words" 

True friends always support and help us to solve problems that can arise in difficult periods of life. 

If you are confused and cannot find the answer, solving a difficult task of life, who if not a friend will help you to find out the way to solve it? 

Who else but a friend will share your joy or sadness? 

Who will give you a hand if you accidentally stumble and find yourself on the ground? 

And who will help you get off the wrong path? 

Only a friend knows how you feel now and what you think about every day. 

Every man is lucky if there are true friends around him just because their presence  makes him, as a rule, happier, stronger and better.
