Dear Judy,

I went to Quebec Winter Carnival this year and it was great! There were lots of fun things to see and do there. I saw some amazing ice sculptures and went skating with my friends. In the centre of the activities there was an ice palace that looked like something from a fairy tail. What about you? Did you go anywhere this winter?

The Quebec Winter Carnival sounds great. This winter I went to Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan. Every year in December it become an ice city. People build sculptures of castles, fairy tale characters and animals. At night, all sculptures light up with coloured lights. It's beautiful.

Зимний карнавал в Квебеке звучит великолепно. Этой зимой я побывала в Астане, столице Казахстана. Каждый год в декабре он становится ледяным городом. Люди строят скульптуры замков, сказочных персонажей и животных. Ночью все скульптуры загораются разноцветными огнями. Это красиво.
