Task 3. Bill Smith does everything himself. Lord Hornby pays other people to do it. Write what Lord Hornby says. Bill Smith:

Lord Hornby:

I had my house painted last week.

1) I’m mending my car.

2) I’ve put in new windows.

3) I’ll build a swimming pool next year.

4) I clean my shoes every day.

5) I wash my car once a week.

6) I’m installing a new shower next month.

7) I made a rocking chair for my wife.

8) I check my son’s homework every night.

The downside was we had to wait in a queue by the length of the queue would take up most of our time in London. While standing in the queue I was shaking nervously as I watched ahead and seen the security guards searching people... when it came to my whole stomach turned even though I had nothing to hide but I felt so guilty as if I have done something wrong even though I knew I had not done anything wrong. A sense of relief came over me when i realise I was all clear and one step closer to being on one of the most famous places in the United Kingdom.

As I was over a hundred feet high looking down over the whole of London at the tiny people below. Although mum was to frightened to get up from the seat my sister and I went to the window to admire the amazing view. After a few times of taking pictures of the lovely surroundings, we tried to spot various buildings such as the Big Ben, Buckingham Palace and 10 downing street, which we later visited, which we later visited, which took a lot of time and energy running from train to train and bus to bus.

When we fianlly returned to the hotel even though we were exhausted from are days experience my sister and I decide to stay up late and look through all the pictures that we had taken of the sites that we had seen earlier our favourite sweets. 

London is my favourite place because I got to see the amazing sites and got to experience all this while spending time with my family.

London, the capital of Great Britain, is a very old town. It is two thousand years old. Many years ago London was a small town on the Thames. There were a lot of villages round it and after many years London and three hundred villages grew into a very large city. Some of the names of those villages you can find in the names of the streets in modern London — Kensington, Westminster and others.There were many wars in those days and people from other countries came to Great Britain and destroyed London, but new houses of stone grew up.London stands not far from the sea. Many ships from other countries came to the port of London and brought cotton, food and other things. Factories grew in London and other cities. Many shops were opened in the centre of London. In 1863 the first underground railway began to work. It was very short in those days.Now London is a beautiful city with large squares and parks. London is one of the biggest cities in the world
