29 years ago my mother's friends talked her to go dancing. She was not in the mood, but she allowed her friends to do it. They came in a small club. the music was loud, it annoyed my mom. she sat in the dark conner without any smile.suddenly a nice fellow came to her and ask for a dance. firstle she wanted to say him no, but when she looked in his eyes, she changed her mind. they danced all night till the morning. After that that guy walked her through to her house. She was very happy that he met her. He asked her for a date next day and she agreed.that fellow was my father.

Chuffnell asked me why I hadn’t told him/her I had been engaged to Pauline Stoker.

I told Chuffnell stiffly that I didn’t understand him/her.

Chuffnell asked me if I had expected her/him to send me a post card. She/ He added that I could have told her/him that morning.

I replied that I had seen no reason to do so. I wondered how she/he had heard about it.
