Russians are a reading nation. It is impossible to imagine our life without newspapers. Millions of copies of them appear every day. Many people subscribe to two or more newspapers, others buy newspapers at the newsstands.
There are national daily newspapers, such as the «Izvestiya», the «Segodnya», the «Komsomolskaya Pravda», the «Trud», the «Ekonomitcheskaya Gazeta», the «Nezavisimaya Gazeta», the «Sovetskaya Rossiya». There are also national weekly newspapers, such as the «Argumenti i Fakti», the «Nedelya», the «Literaturnaya Gazeta». Most national newspapers express political opinion, and people choose them according to their political beliefs.
Most newspapers contain news, detailed articles on home and international affairs, reviews of books, art and TV shows. Many of them also cover sports events.
There are local newspapers in every city and town of Russia. The most popular local newspapers in Moscow are the «Moskovsky Komsomolets» and the «Vechernyaya Moskva». There are also a lot of free newspapers in Moscow. They are delivered to people’s homes whether they like it or not. They usually contain advertisements.
One can also find newspapers for teenagers and children, for sports fans and people of different professions, and newspapers for women.
There is also a newspaper for people studying the English language, «The Moscow News». When one reads this newspaper, he or she learns much about everyday life in Russia and Great Britain. One also learns a lot of English words and phrases.

Countries all over the world pay much attention to this problem and solve it. And England is not an exception. Citizens of this country and the government itself are very aware of the necessity in protecting the environment. They try to do a lot to make the outside world better. For example, the British petrol stations sell unleaded petrol, which contains less dangerous elements for the air, and it is controlled officially. Also thousands of buildings and conservation areas are protected by government. It helps to prevent them from destruction, vandalism, cutting the woods down and extinction of species. Famous national parks, that cover a huge part of Great Britain’s territory, are saved from real estate development, and it improves the condition of air. What is more, in Great Britain there are the River purification authorities that control water pollution and their duty is to solve the problems concerning water. But not only organizations do this work, ordinary people take care a lot in their everyday life as well. For instance, they use water and electricity very economically not to save money only, but to spare the natural resources. Also in Europe and in England in particular cars with electric motors are popular. It does not spoil the air purity, but, unfortunately, such cars are not so widely produced. We are responsible for our planet, and we should follow the example of Great Britain in the question of saving the environment.

The word "homeland" is hidden a special meaning, which makes us think about the country in which you were born with warmth and tenderness. Every person should love their Motherland, after all, where is born this or that person decides the Lord. Hence, such a fate and no need for her to blame. Every country has something that you could love. Being born in a certain country, a person grows up, gets educated, becomes a personality. Even for that we have to love the place where you were born.

If you do not talk about the country, there is the notion of "small Motherland". This applies to territories, regions, cities and even villages. I was born in the Urals and love this land. Of course, it may seem that in other regions and countries life is much better, but better than where you were born, nothing. Yes, we have unpredictable weather, but we got used to it and it has its own charm. In the Urals in one year can be very hot and dry summer, and the other is cool with torrential rains. Also things and with the winter time. The temperature can be replaced by thaw, and the locals have long been accustomed to.

Each person has a homeland, he must love. I love my edge just for the fact that here I was born and grew up. Here I'm going to get a higher education and then get a job. I do not rush to the capital of the Motherland, there is no me enough visitors. I will live a life where my parents were born and me.
