Онегину это не понравилось, и чтобы отомстить Ленскому он начал ухаживать за Ольгой младшей сестой Татьяны. По этой причине Ленский вызывает Онегина на дуэль. Где и погибает сам. После смерти Ленского Онегин был подавлен. Роман в стихах заканчивается тем что Евгений  Онегин И Татьяна Ларина никогда не будут вместе. И их любовь навсегда останется в их сердцах.
