Holidays in Russia.

There are the dates and events in the life of this country, which are memorable for every citizen of Russia. It dates: Victory Day, May 1, Constitution Day, Women’s Day, Independence Day. This national holiday, people do not work these days. The most memorable day is the Victory Day which is kept on the 9-th of May. On this Day we celebrate the anniversary of the victory over fascism in the World War II. May Day is regarded as the day of solidarity of the workers of the world.
This day commemorates the tragic events of the years 1884-1888 in Chicago when workers were fighting for their rights. The Women’s Day, celebrated on the 8-th of March, is like Mother’s Day in Great Britain. Women’s Day is celebrated on March 8, and it is similar to Mother’s Day in the UK. On this day, you can see a lot of men buying flowers. Children give their mothers presents, or send them postcards if they are away from home. Recently new national holidays have appeared.They are of religious origin. They are: Christmas and Easter. In Russia Christmas is celebrated on 7-th of January. Europe and the USA it is marked on December 25 . On Christmas people celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. Easter symbolized the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. People exchange this day traditional brightly colored eggs and Easter cakes. Easter cakes are sold at every bakery, but home-made ones are always much tastier. There is one more holiday which is loved by everybody: children and adults. This is New Year’s Eve. People decorate New Year trees with toys and lights and believe that a miracle is must on this day. On the New Year night people go to a dance, visit their friends or stay at home and watch TV. It’s my favourite holiday.

Есть даты и события в жизни этой страны, которые памятны для каждого гражданина России. Это даты: День Победы, День 1 Мая, День Конституции, женский день, День независимости. Это национальные праздники, люди не работают в эти дни. Наиболее памятным днем является День Победы, который отмечается 9-го мая. В этот день мы празднуем годовщину победы над фашизмом в Великой Отечественной войне. Первое Мая считается днем солидарности рабочих всего мира. Это день памяти о трагических событиях 1884-1888 года в Чикаго, когда рабочие боролись за свои права. Женский День отмечается 8-го марта, и он похож на  День матери в Великобритании. В этот день вы можете увидеть много мужчин покупающих цветы. Дети дарят своим матерям подарки, или отправить им открытки, если они находятся вдали от дома. Недавно появились новые национальные праздники. Они имеют религиозное происхождение. Это: Рождество и Пасха. В России Рождество празднуется 7-го января. Европа и США отмечает этот день 25 декабря.На Рождество люди празднуют рождение Иисуса Христа. Пасха символизирует Воскресение Иисуса Христа. Люди обмениваются в этот день традиционными ярко окрашенными яйцами и пасхальными куличами.Пасхальные куличи продаются на каждой пекарне, но испечённые дома  всегда намного вкуснее. Существует еще один праздник, который любят все: дети и взрослые. Это Новый год. Люди украшают новогодние елки с игрушками и огнями и верят, что чудо обязательно явится в этот день. На новогоднюю ночь люди танцуют, посещают своих друзей или остаются дома и смотрят телевизор. Это мой любимый праздник.
