Dmitry Khvorostovsky is one of the most famous singers in the world, often taking part in performances in different countries and always becoming the center of gravity. Some fans call him "Elvis Opera", hearing about it, he believed that it was a huge compliment, because for him, Elvis was a kind of revolutionary.Hvorostovsky was born in Krasnoyarsk in Siberia - where he studied at school, and for some time was a singer in a rock band where heavy metal plays. After Hvorostovsky won several professional competitions in Russia, Irina Arkhipova urged him to take part in the Cardiff Singer of the World Contest in 1989. He won this, and his world career began.His very lyrical manner of singing is sometimes called the "old school". He works with theaters and singers around the world. Currently, Hvorostovsky has a home in London and speaks fluent English, is working hard to lead a healthy lifestyle. He confessed that he quit smoking and stopped drinking alcohol many years ago knowing that this would help him to do his best in his profession.
