Одним из обычаев "Дикого Запада" являются ковбойские костюмы. Люди на Западе ведут очень опасную и нелегкую жизнь, и их одежда имела весомое место в их существовании. Ковбои проводили много времени в дикой природе. Обычно они одевали шляпы, ботинки и брюки. Головные уборы защищали их лица от палящего солнца. Обувь пробраться сквозь заросли. Также ботинки защищали ковбоев от опасных змей, которых было очень много. Такая обувь делала езду на лошадях более простой и удобной. В середине 19 столетия в Сан Франциско проживал портной по имени Лови Страусс. Он придумал специальную одежду - плотные брюки, названные "джинсами". Вскоре все ковбои стали одевать джинсы. Сейчас джинсы популярны не только в Америке, но и во всем мире.
