Task 1. Reading A song from the famous English pop group the Beatles told us that money can't buy us love. Many people also believe that money cannot buy happiness. In fact, there is an expression that says money is the root of all evil. However, a new study from Cambridge University suggests that money can buy you happiness.
Researchers conducted a study on the spending habits of customers in a bank. They compared what the bank customers bought with their personality. The research team compared the personalities of 625 people with a list of how they spent their money. The conclusion of the study was that what people buy can lead to happiness, but only if they buy the right things.
One of the researchers believes the study may change the way people think about money and happiness. He said it showed, "that spending can increase our happiness when it is spent on goods and services that fit our personalities". He said Internet companies could use information about people's happiness to recommend products and services that make people happier.
Another researcher said spending money could be more important in our lives than we thought. She said: "Spending money on products that help us express who we are as individuals could turn out to be as important to our well-being as finding the right job, the right neighborhood or even the right friends and partners."

Несколько дней назад моя сестра и я смотрели программу "Dog Show" по телевизору. Это было потрясающее зрелище! Я никогда не видела столько красивых и умных собак в одном месте. Шоу было похоже на огромную выставку собак всех пород. Нам очень понравилась эта передача. Я думаю, что теперь мы всегда будем смотреть ее. 

A few days ago my sister and I watched DogShow on TV. It was an amazing show! I've never seen so many beautiful and clever dogs in one place. The show was like a huge exhibition of dogs of all breeds. We loved this show very much. I think that now we will always watch it.

The rescue of animals

A lot of animals die because of people’s fault. The number of species is diminishing nowadays. The reason for it is the slighting attitude to ecology. But not everybody thinks that it is a serious problem. 

 

There are two opinions on this issue: some people suppose the animal’s death not to be a vital issue nowadays. Others disagree with them. I think that the latter opinion is right.

The disappearance of animals is a very important problem. Firstly, a lot of species are helpful for people. Animals give us food, clothes, and different materials. Secondly, every spice is the result of evolution, and we destroy millennial legacy killing animals. Thirdly, no one living creature deserves death. Every being has the right to live.

But some people think that the rescue of animals is the waste of money. There are more important things to pay attention to. A lot of animals are also dangerous.

In my opinion, they are not right. The rescue of lives can not be in vain. The correct treatment of animals is the guarantee of your safety.

Luckily it is possible to save a lot of lives, and we will be able to do it if we want. But it was just my opinion. Of course, everyone remains unconvinced.
 

Множество животных умирает от рук человека. В наши дни число видов уменьшается. Причиной тому является пренебрежительное отношение к экологии. Но не каждый считает это серьёзной проблемой. Существует для мнения по этому поводу: некоторые люди полагают, что гибель животных не является важной проблемой в наши дни. Другие не согласны с ними. Я думаю, что второе мнение правильное.

Исчезновение животных – это очень важная проблема. Во-первых, множество видов полезно для людей. Животные дают нам еду, одежду и различные материалы. Во-вторых, каждый вид является результатом эволюции, и, убивая животных, мы разрушаем наследие многих тысячелетий.

Но некоторые люди думают, что животных – это пустая трата денег. Есть более важные проблемы, на которые следовало бы обратить внимание. Так же многие животные опасны.

По моему мнению, они не правы жизней не моет быть напрасным. Правильное обращение с животными гарантирует Вашу безопасность.

К счастью,  ещё возможно сохранить множество жизней, и мы сможем сделать это, если захотим. Но это только моё мнение. Конечно, каждый останется при своём.
