We don't live perfect world or society. There are many social issues: poverty, homelessness, wars, unemployment. All the people in a trouble need someone's help. For instance, we can help homeless people, people who lost their job, people who suffer from poverty.
To give them hand we can give some money to charity organisations. Also, it's helpful for some people just to provide them with food. For countries of The Third world, where people don't have basic sanitation, providing them with needed medication makes sense.
