Christmas in Britain
One of the greatest holidays in Britain is Christmas. People pay great attention to its
symbols. Starting from the front door till the food on the table you can find a lot of evidence of
their love.
Who has not heard about Christmas stockings? It is said that one night Santa flew over
the chimney and dropped some gold coins into the socks hung to get dry. So now every year
people put stockings above the fireplace and wait for surprises.
The Christmas tree is also a part of this holiday. We can see a star on the top of it
symbolizing Bethlehem star which revealed the birth of Jesus.
Today almost everyone knows «Jingle Bells»> or «Merry Christmas songs. The word
«carol» means «songs of joy». So, singing some joyful carols at Christmas night can bring you a
lot of happiness.
One of the sweet symbols is a candy cane. It is a caramel cane-shaped stick, white and
red. It reminds the letter «J» according to the name of Jesus Christ.

It seems to me that everyone dreams of going abroad. Everyone has their own desires and motives, dreams, and possibly stereotypes (стереотипы) associated with other countries. As for me, I also have a dream to visit another country. And I will just tell you about my motives, dreams and some stereotypes.

I am one of those people who loves warm countries, so my dream is to visit Italy. Probably every fashionista (модница) in the world dreams of visiting this fashion capital. I'm one of those people. I'm interested in seeing the surrounding boutiques, the local fashion girls and guys, learning a little about the history of fashion and Italy's contribution to this craft. Also in my head is the stereotype that all Italians eat only pizza and pasta. Probably, many people think so. I would really like to break this myth for myself and discover new aspects of Italian cuisine (итальянской кухни). I am also very attracted to the authentic architecture of Italy. Imagine, even an ordinary living street keeps a centuries-old history! Literally, art is on every corner.

That's how you learned about my dream to visit Italy and discover something new, break old stereotypes and get indescribable emotions.
