Travelling by railway Long — distance trains are fast trains. Local train make all
the stops and you can get on or get off a local trains at a very
small station, even if it is only a platform. Local trains have
carriages with wooden seats as passengers make only short trips.
The traveler first of all books his ticket in advance. When
the day of his departure comes he goes to the railway station. In
some time the loud speaker announces that the train is in and
that passengers are invited to take their seats. The traveler looks
for his carriage and his berth. It may be a lower berth which is
more convenient or it may be an upper one. The traveler puts his
suitcase into a special box under the seat. Soon the whistle is heard and
the train starts. The traveller waves his last good-bye to his
friends and relatives. First the train runs slowly then it gathers speed.
