Once Hector (returned) home after walking with his dog he (found) a tiny parcel on the porch mat. He (found) a gold ring crowned with a large black opal. He (recognized) it as one of several items of jewellery burgled from his home more than two years ago. “I (got) the shock of my life”, said Mr. Bonallo. He (was) pretty skeptical about the curse. But then he (knew) it (had) its effect. They never (knew) what (happened) to the thieves to make them do it. His wife (was) amazed and delighted to have the ring back after all this time.
