My Own TV Channel. No doubt, that the most popular entertainment in our home life is television. We have a choice between five channels ORT, RTR and 3 commercial channels. There is also a cable TV station in our town. Television plays an important role in our life. It informs people about current events both national and international, the latest achievements in science and culture, and offers some programmes, which are both interesting and informative. Every day we can see different types of programmes on TV. If I could have my own channel on TV it would broadcast news at regular intervals. My channel would also present operas, ballets, music concerts and various shows. It would broadcast for schools five days a week, during school hours.In the late afternoon and early evening my TV channel would show special programs for children. In the evenings and at weekends there would be broadcasting of sports events. A large part of time would be occupied by films and serials and quizzes. A quizzes–programme is a question and an answer competition which offers money and other prizes to the winners. Such programmes are also both informative and interesting. To conclude, I think my channel would have a programme “Travelling is Great!”, or "Let's Travel!" because such programme gives people a chance to travel to other worlds, to far away countries and learn their customs and traditions and much more.

THE Dunns like to sit near THE fire-place in the evenings. 5. There is A built-in furniture in our kitchen. THE furniture makes THE kitchen comfortable. 6. Is there A study in your flat? Yes, but THE study is not large, though it is very comfortable.
Mr. Dunn has got a brother. His name is John Dunn. He is 35. John lives inA very nice house. There is A small garden near it. There are two floors in his house: THE ground floor and THE first floor. Downstairs there is A sitting-room and A kitchen. THE John’s sitting-room is large. There is A nice carpet on THE floor. There are -- four comfortable armchairs, A TV-set, and A wall-unit there. On A small table near THE window there are -- foreign newspapers and journals. There is A fire-place in THE room. It makes THE sitting-room cosy. THE kitchen is not large. There is A built-in furniture there. Upstairs there is A bedroom and A small bathroom. In the evenings John likes to sit near THE fire-place and read. He likes his house and often thinks, ‘There is no place like home’.
