Everything started three years ago when a friend told me about his new hobby — basketball. On my first day | didn’t know anything about this sport,
but my coach explained the rules of this game to me. When | started | was very weak but soon | became stronger.
My coach’s name is Sergio Donaldini. When he was young, he played for a local team. He is strict, but he is funny, too. He gets angry when we don’t score any points because he says that it is very important. When we practise he makes us do a lot of exercises: we run, do sit-ups, etc.
| have my basketball practice three times a week. We start at half past five and we finish at half past seven. Next month we are going to Porto San Gior- gio for five days, for a tournament, and we are determined to be the winners. | enjoy playing basketball and | also like watching it on TV, especially American basketball teams, because | think they are the best basketball players in the world. My favourite basketball players are Michael Jordan, who doesn’t play any more, and LeBron James, who plays for Miami Heats. When | grow older | want to be like these famous sportsmen and maybe become a famous basketball player myself!»
