SHAM’S ORANGE CAKE

Here is the recipe for my favourite orange cake.
My mother makes it for me and it is very delicious!
1. Beat the eggs and sugar together in a bowl.
2. Add butter and yogurt.
3. Wash the oranges.
4. Peel the oranges.
5. Grate the peel of the orange and put it into the bowl.
6. Add some vanilla and flour.
7. Bake it for 20 minutes.
8. Cut the orange cake.
9. Eat the cake and say "Yummy" :)
Ingredients:
200 gr. butter
50 gr. yogurt
a cup of sugar
4 cups of flour
3 eggs
2 oranges
50 gr. vanilla

A crossword puzzle is a game of words where the player is given a hint and the number of letters. The player then fills in a grid of boxes by finding the right words. Liverpool journalist, Arthur Wynne invented the first crossword puzzle.Arthur WynneArthur Wynne was born on June 22, 1871 in Liverpool, England. He immigrated to the United States at the age of nineteen. He first lived in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and worked for the Pittsburgh Press newspaper. An interesting side-note, was that Wynne also played violin in the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra.Later, Arthur Wynne moved to Cedar Grove, New Jersey and started working for a New York City based newspaper called the New York World. He wrote the first crossword puzzle for the New York World, published on Sunday, December 21, 1913. In Magic Squares, the player is given a group of words and has to arrange them on a grid so that the words read the same way across and down. A crossword puzzle is very similar, except instead of being given the words the player is given clues.Arthur Wynne added other innovations to the crossword puzzle. While the first puzzle wasdiamond-shaped, he later invented horizontal and vertical shaped puzzles; and Wynne invented the use of adding blank black squares to a crossword puzzle.The crossword puzzle in a British publication was published in Pearson's Magazine in February 1922. The first New York Times crossword was published on February 1 1930.First Book of Crossword PuzzlesAccording to the Guinness Book of Records, the first collection of crossword puzzles was published in the USA in 1924. Called The Cross Word Puzzle Book it was the first publication by a new partnership formed by Dick Simon and Lincoln Schuster. The book, a compilation of crossword puzzles from the newspaper New York World, was an instant success and helped to establish publishing giant Simon & Schuster, who continue to produce crossword books to this day.

Millions of people are fond of watching TV. There are many different TV programmes, shows, soups, interesting films, advertisements, news, plays to watch. My parents spend a lot of time watching everything. Of course, sometimes they show something interesting but not very often.  If somewhere something important or dangerous takes place journalists will report these events on TV, but their endless soups are awful. Other people say that television is becoming a national disease. I agree with them.  Lots of my friends are fond of watching but I have to confess, I hate TV programmes. I think it's waste of time. And I think that they damage their eyes, become lazy, put on their weight and have no time to do sports or to read books.  I prefer doing sports, playing games in the open air and taking part in different sport competitions.

   Миллионы людей любят смотреть телевизор. Есть много различных телевизионных программ, шоу, сериалов, интересных фильмов, рекламных роликов, новостей, пьес, которые можно посмотреть по телевизору.
Мои родители проводят много времени, смотря все подряд. Конечно, иногда по телевизору показывают что-то интересное, но не очень часто. Если где-то что-то важное или опасное происходит, журналисты сообщат об этих событиях по телевидению, но их бесконечные сериалы - это ужасно.
Другие люди говорят, что телевидение становится национальной болезнью. Я с ними согласен.
Многие мои друзья любят смотреть телевизор, но я должен признаться, я ненавижу телевизионные программы. Я думаю, что это пустая трата времени. И я думаю, что они портят зрение, становятся ленивыми, увеличивают свой вес и не имеют времени, чтобы заниматься спортом или читать книги.
Я предпочитаю заниматься спортом, играть в игры на открытом воздухе и принимать участие в различных спортивных соревнованиях.
