We all need water. The problem is there is often too much or too little. And there are other problems, when it rains a lot the level of the rivers rises. The water runs over the banks. People drown. Their cars and houses ruined. Animals drown, too. Many big cities in Asia, Latin America and Europe often have floods. Sometimes it doesn’t rain for a long time. Plants die. Animals die, too. People have no food. Many countries in Africa have problems with droughts. Every year these droughts get worse and worse.
Industry always pollutes water with chemicals. Some farmers use too many chemicals. These enter the rivers and lakes. They kill the plants and fish.
The world is getting warmer, so water levels are rising. Climates are changing. Some countries are becoming hotter and drier. This affects agriculture.
People want to control global warming, but they can’t agree about the best solutions.

I spent my winter holidays in Moscow. This year I did not go anywhere.
Our winter holidays began oh the 27th of December. On that day we had a New Year party at school. We had prepared an amateur performance with Father Frost and Snow-Maiden. There were different competitions, we played different games. Then we had a dance party. That day we had a lot of fun.
I like winter for a number of holidays we celebrate at the beginning of a new year. First of all this is New Year Day.
On the 7th of January our family celebrates Christmas. I like this holiday very much too.
The period of the winter holidays is rich in different shows and performances. This year we chose the show in the circus. I think there is nobody in the world who can be tired of the circus. I liked the clowns most of all. Their tricks were so funny.
But the time during the holidays flies so quickly. Certainly, I read some books which I dreamt to read but I didn't have free time for this.
This year the weather was really New Year's one. It was rather snowy and one day we set off to the park to ski. We had a nice day there.
I like my last winter holidays very much.

 

At last the winter holidays came! I was very happy!   I didn't have  to get up early in the morning and run to school. I could stay in the bed till midday. But I didn't want to sleep. There were a lot of things to do.

The weather was fine so my friends and I went to the skating- rink almost every day. It was fun!

Then I spent a week in the country where my grandfather and grandmother lived. It was great. I drank milk and eat a lot of tasty food which my granny prepared for me.

I have many friends in this village because I go there every holidays.

We went to the forest to ski, we made snowmen and played snowballs. We even played hockey!

But the winter holidays were over and I returned to the city again.  I liked my holidays very much.

 

! Я был очень счастлив!  Я не должен был вставать рано утром и бежать в школу. Я мог  оставаться в постели до полудня. Но я не хотел спать. Было так много дел.

Погода была хорошая, так что мои друзья и я ходили на каток почти каждый день. Это было весело!

Затем я провел неделю в деревне, где  живут мои дедушка и бабушка . Это было здорово. Я пил молоко и ел много вкусной пищи, которую моя бабушка готовила для меня.

У меня много друзей в этой деревне, потому что я езжу туда каждые каникулы.

Мы ходили в лес кататься на лыжах, мы делали снеговиков и играли в снежки. Мы даже играли в хоккей!

Но зимние каникулы закончились, и я вернулся в город снова. Мне очень понравились мои каникулы.
