сделать перессказ этого текста . Очень . Before I started high school my mom kept bugging me about which extracurricular activities I was going to choose. I really didn't know what the dig deal was. But now that I'm a senior,I totally understand. I've spent the last three months tilling in college applications, and now I get how important extracurricular activities are. Colleges want to see that you're busy not just in the classroom, but outside as well.
For the last three years I've been very active on the Student Council. This is like student government. Our job is to work with the principal's office to make life at our school better. I'm also the captain of the girls' basketball team. We're not very good, but it keeps me fit and it's a lot of fun.
My friend Tom plays on our soccer team. Now, they're really good! They won the championship in our school division three years in a row, and Tom is being recruited by colleges because he's our star forward.
A bunch of my friends are really active in our school drama club. Last year they put on a great production of the musical "Grease". Our school also has an online newspaper, and almost anyone who wants to can contribute to that.
But for me, the best of my extracurricular activities is the volunteer work I do at a senior centre. I go in once or twice a week and help in all sorts of ways, like reading out loud to someone or making decorations for a holiday party. Last year I travelled to our state capital to hear politicians talk about new laws for senior care. Because of this experience I'm now thinking about a career in public policy-and that's what I wrote about in my college application.

Taking a walk in the park could help those suffering from depression, researchers have found. They studied whether a nature walk could improve the mood of people with clinical depression. The research also tested theories developed in a cognitive science field known as Attention Restoration Theory, which propose that people concentrate better after spending time in nature or looking at natural scenes.According to ART, those in peaceful settings are not bombarded with external distractions, which tax their working memory and attention systems. As a result, the brain can relax and enter a state of contemplation, which helps restore cognitive capacities. For the latest study, 20 people with clinical depression – 12 women and eight men, with an average age of 26 – took part in an experiment that involved walking in a quiet nature setting and in a noisy urban setting. Before their walks, participants completed testing to determine their cognitive and mood status, and were asked to think about an unresolved, painful memory. They were then told to go for an hour-long walk in a woodland park, or stroll along a busy street.
