My favourite dish is pilaf. Pilaf is well-known all over the world and is loved by many people. It is hard to say where it was first cooked but nowadays this dish is common in many different cultures. Especially it is common in Middle Eastern, Caucasian and Asian countries.
Today there are a lot of variations of this dish. So, pilaf is not only associated with rice and meat. There can also be fish, vegetables and fruit among its ingredients. In addition to that pilaf recipes vary from nation to nation. The proportion of the ingredients also plays a great role and influences the taste of pilaf.There are a lot of different ways to cook pilaf and some of them are kept a secret.It is needless to say that one can hardly get bored with pilaf.
Pilaf is also a good dish for those who like kitchen experiments. With so many recipes and variations there is always an opportunity to learn something new and widen one’s skills.
I also love cooking pilaf. I often cook this delicious dish for family dinner. I usually cook it with beef but sometimes I cook it with chicken.
To my mind, despite its rather simple ingredients pilaf adds a bit of festive touch to the table. I like soft texture of braised meat and taste of rice cooked in its broth. I think that a pilaf recipe should be a must-have in every home’s cookbook.
My Family's Meals
My family isn't large. It consists of four members. But each member of our family has his own tastes and interests. For example, my brother is fond of sports. So early in the morning he goes jogging.
That's why he has nothing to eat before it, because it would be bad for him to eat before exercises. But when he comes back, he has a shower and is more than ready for breakfast. He always needs a cup of coffee to really wake him up. His breakfast usually consists of a bowl of cereal with milk and sugar. Then he has toasts and juice. My father eats the same food as my brother.
My mother has a lighter breakfast consisting of yoghurt and a grapefruit only. As for me, a cup of tea is enough for breakfast. And my mother sometimes scolds me for it, because it's important to have a really good breakfast.
We don't have our main meal at lunch time. My father takes sandwiches with him to work. He also eats fruits to be healthy. My mother can be more varied in her lunches, because she is a housewife. It means that she can prepare what she likes.
Her favourite dish is roast meat. As she likes to bake, there is always something tasty at home. Our evening meal is usually eaten at 7 o'clock. The main course is often meat with vegetables. Sometimes we eat pizza or pasta with delicious sauce.
We try to eat our main meal together. In our busy lives it is the only time of day when we sit down and have a good talk.

Моя семья небольшая. Она состоит из 4 человек. Но каждый член нашей семьи имеет свои вкусы и интересы. Например, мой брат увлекается спортом. Рано утром он бегает трусцой.
Поэтому он ничего не ест перед этим, так как перед упражнениями есть нежелательно. Но возвратившись, он принимает душ и идет завтракать. Чтобы взбодриться, он всегда выпивает чашку кофе. Завтрак моего брата обычно состоит из тарелки овсянки с молоком и сахаром. Затем тосты и сок. У моего отца такой же завтрак.
У моей мамы завтрак более легкий и состоит из йогурта и грейпфрута. Мне достаточно чашки чая на завтрак. Но мама меня иногда ругает, потому что хорошо позавтракать — очень важно.
Мы не едим вместе во время ланча. Папа берет бутерброды на работу. Чтобы быть здоровым, он также ест фрукты. У мамы более разнообразная еда, потому что она домохозяйка. Это значит, что она может приготовить все, что хочет.
Ее любимое блюдо — жареное мясо. Так как она любит печь, дома всегда есть что-нибудь вкусненькое. Вечером мы обычно едим в 7 часов. Главное блюдо — мясо с овощами. Иногда мы едим пиццу или макароны со вкусным соусом.
Мы стараемся обедать вместе. В нашей занятой жизни это время, когда мы садимся и разговариваем.
