Верхняя палата - Совет Федерации, а нижняя - Государственная дума. Каждую палату возглавляет спикер. Законы Российской Федерации создаются парламентом. Чтобы законопроект стал законом он должен быть одобрен обеими палатами и подписан президентом. Президентом может наложить вето на законопроект. 

Исполнительная власть принадлежит правительству, которое возглавляет премьер-министр. Премьер-министра назначает президент. Первое действие после назначения - сформировать правительство. 

На сегодняшний день государственный символ России - трехцветный флаг. Это был первый государственный символ, заменивший старые в 1991 году. Новый государственный герб - двуглавый орел. Это самый древний символ России.
