The San Diego Zoo is perhaps the most famous menagerie in the world. And certainly one of the largest and most progressive. It is located on an area of about 40 hectares, on which almost 4 thousand individuals have settled comfortably - these are representatives of more than 800 species and subspecies of animals. By the way, the sunny climate in which the zoo is located is ideal for many animals. And not only masters of their craft work in the menagerie, but also volunteers who adhere to an active position in the protection and preservation of natural habitats among animals.
The main part of the zoo can be viewed by sightseeing buses or a suspended gondola. The menagerie is interesting not only for the huge number of animals, but also for the rich collection of plants. For example, about 40 species of bamboo grow here, which are used as food for giant pandas. There are 18 variations of eucalyptus trees for koala marsupials. And another small interesting fact, in the famous cartoon "Madagascar" the heroes got to the island of the same name and believed that they were in the San Diego Zoo.
