Дмитрий Шпаро родился в 1941 году. Он- известный русский руководитель экспедиций, который первый в мире достиг Северного полюса на лыжах. за это он выиграл рекорды гинеса. 
 в 1988 году впервые в истории международной лыжной экспедиции под руководством Дмитрия Шпаро  пересек Северно ледовитый океан из России в Канаду через Северный полюс
в 1990 году, Дмитрий вместе со своим сыном Матвеем провел много проектов для молодежи и детей.Сюда входят научные экспедиции в Россию, путешествуя по рекам в США и лыжная экспедиция на Северном полюсе.
