On new year's table was not to present dishes of poultry, game birds or hare, because it was believed that the house could fly, or to escape happiness. Ukrainians, Belarusians, Russians and Moldovans traditional new year's dish was considered the pancakes and pudding. Guests were treated to nuts, sweets or figurines, baked from dough in the form of domestic animals: cows, bulls, horses.
