New Year is a wonderful holiday. New Year's holiday is celebrated in almost all countries of the world. This holiday is loved by everyone, especially children. On the night of December 31 Santa Claus comes to them. He brings gifts to obedient children. The New Year is celebrated on December 31. Since 1700, by decree of Peter the Great, New Year is celebrated in Russia, as in European countries, on January 1, and it is still the Julian calendar.

Hi Sam,
I’ve just got back from my trip to Scandinavia. It was great! First we flew to Helsinki from Moscow. We spent a few days there sightseeing and enjoying Streat Helsinki festival. Then we traveled by plane to Stockholm. It took just an hour so we could easily continue our day in Stockholm. That is why we went to a musical festival called Allsång på Skansen. It was incredible! We had so much fun enjoying beautiful music and singing-along with the guest artists. After awhile it started raining heavily so I’m glad I had my raincoat. We stayed in Stockholm for a couple of days and after that we took a train to Oslo. It took 6 hours, so we could enjoy beautiful Scandinavian landscapes. In Oslo we went to museums, parks and also to a Fjord tour. It was a fantastically beautiful time. Finally we took a ride back home. I loved the trip but unfortunately we didn't have enough time to see everything we want. So I hope to get back soon and discover more.
